I've already mentioned that this project is heavily influenced by the awesome eighteen-year polaroid-a-day project of Jamie Livingston (see my first Photo a Day post), so it's interesting to me that on the 10th day of my own project, my picture is (of) a polaroid. I took a photo of this polaroid because I'd obtained it from my dear friend Teghan in a hungover-haze after an incredible night with my classmates following our Latornell presentation. I realized today that it should be with its brother and sister polaroids from that night. I still wanted to be able to come back to the photo when I needed it, because the photo is of me in a radiant state that I want to remember as I played my guitar all night in a little hotel room with some of my favourite people in the universe.

While I do love the magic that digital can create by offering the option to perfect your composition (ideally) with as many "second shots" as you need, there is something awesome about being handed a tangible thing that is your likeness on paper the moment the photo is captured. I can't remember if it was Teghan who took the photo, but thanks to all of my classmates and teachers for some of the best memories I've made to this day.
